Ce recueil de poèmes courts est composé sur le texte de Marguerite Yourcenar dans son état actuel de publication chez Gallimard (collection Blanche). Par une sorte d’interpretation littérale du titre initial, chaque bloc de texte est couvert d’un aplat noir, et laisse apparaitre en réserve quelques mots choisis. Chaque page est considérée comme un répertoire indépendant de signes, duquel resurge un poème caché. Ce travail d’écriture — d’écrémage —, parce qu’il empreinte et empiète sur un texte étranger, en proposant une sorte de composition à deux voix, assume et formalise l’influence d’un style sur l’autre, tout en faisant du mot le matériau d’opérations alchimiques sans cesse renouvelables. Cette démarche d’écriture n’est pas sans faire écho à celle de l’auteure elle-même, telle qu’elle la décrit dans ses Carnets : « Se désincarner pour se réincarner en autrui, et utiliser pour cela ses os, sa chair et son sang, et les milliers d’images enregistrées par une matière grise ».

This collection of short poems is composed on the text of Marguerite Yourcenar in her current state of publi- cation with Gallimard (Blanche collection). By a kind of literal interpretation of the initial title, each block of text is covered with a black flat surface, and allows a few chosen words to appear in reserve. Each page is conside- red as an independent repertoire of signs, from which a hidden poem emerges. On the cover, the author « Mar- guerite Yourcenar de l’Académie française » becomes « Marguerite à demi » (half a Marguerite). This writing work, by proposing a kind of two-part composition, assumes and formalizes the influence of one style on the other, while making the word the material of constantly renewable alchemical operations. This writing process is not without echoing that of the author herself, as she describes it in her Notebooks: « To disembody oneself to reincarnate into others, and to use one’s bones, flesh and blood, and the thousands of images recorded by a grey matter ».
